Learning Track: Leadership in Word

The Scriptures as a Source for Sustainability,
Replenishment, & Renewal in Our Ministries

with Dr. Frank Hankins

Sign up for Learning Tracks.

Few leaders flourish over a lifetime and finish well. Ministry fads and trends will come and go, but the Scriptures continue to provide resources for our personal renewal, the shaping of our ministry values, and a sustainable vocation and/or calling.

This Learning Track will provide insights, perspectives, and tools for helping us gain access to these transformational resources in the Word of God. We will build on the breakthrough insights of my mentor, Dr. Bobby Clinton.

Session 1 — “Sustainability in Ministry:
The Scriptures as the Sustaining Resource for Our Leadership”

Wednesday July 21, 10:30 – 12:30

Few leaders flourish over a lifetime and finish well. Additionally, ministry fads and trends come and go. In the face of these challenges the Scriptures continue to provide resources for our personal renewal, the shaping of our ministry values, and a sustainable vocation and/or calling. As Paul wrote, “Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us” (2 Tim. 3:17b, The Message). We will explore together how we can discover life-shaping and strategic values and insights for our ministries.

Session 2 — “Replenishment in Ministry:
Guidelines for Getting at Life-Shaping Values for our Leadership in Scripture”
Thursday July 22, 10:30 – 12:30

Many leaders are depleted and running on empty in their ministries. We need to be replenished and renewed to continue well in our journey. This Learning Track will provide insights, perspectives, and tools for helping us gain access to the transformational resources in the Word of God. We will explore together a paradigm that connects us with Scripture in a more holistic sense. This paradigm frees us to discover soul-shaping encounters with God, greater familiarity with the Bible in general, and discovery of “core” or life-shaping parts of the Bible that deeply impact our life and leadership.

Session 3 — “Progress in Ministry:
Guidelines for Growing as Bible Centered Leader”
Friday July 22, 10:30 – 12:30

Modeling a growing, renewed leader is paramount to serving others. The Scriptures are the primary resource for shaping our heart and leadership practice. We will explore how we can continue to engage God in Scripture, build upon past learning and insights, and use Scripture in life-giving ways for those whom we serve.
