Barry & Mary Kissell

Barry & Mary Kissell

Barry is a New Zealand native who met Mary soon after arriving in England. They have been married for 44 years and now have 7 grown-up children and 8 grandchildren.

For 30 years Barry was on the staff of St Andrew’s Church Chorleywood, where he was the Founder and Director of the Faith Sharing Ministry. This ministry took him with teams to 100’s of churches in 25 nations where they evangelised and taught on the renewing power of the Holy Spirit.

For 8 years Barry co-hosted the New Wine Family conference. He has also written a number of books, the most recent of which are Riding the Storm, which describes the recovery from a serious accident, and The Prophet’s Notebook, which is a part of a series on the five-fold ministries that he edited. Since 2000 Barry has been the Associate Rector of St Mary’s Bryanston Square London.

Mary trained as a nurse and later as a tutor. For fifteen years she ran courses for nurses on the care and support of dying patients and their families. She is a trained bereavement counsellor.

Mary’s passion is for people to reach their full potential without hindrances from the past. She runs the ‘Freedom Course,’ which aims to facilitate those on their inner healing journey. Mary also runs a prayer course to encourage the establishing of a regular prayer habit.

Mary love spaniels, gardening, walking in the country with Barry and a good book while Barry’s hobbies include watching Rugby and windsurfing – although opportunities for the latter are not so available in London!
