We will be offering Excursions to various parts of Asia before and after conference. Be sure to make your travel arrangements accordingly if you plan to participate on an Excursion!
Why are we doing Excursions?
- To see, touch, and feel more of Asia.
- To see firsthand what CRM and others are doing in this part of the world.
- To take advantage of doing more than the conference while already in the area.
- To give you and your children an insider’s view of the Far East and what life is like for more than 2/3 of the world’s population.

Five-Day Excursion to Cambodia
Come see, taste and smell the many sites in the Kingdom of Cambodia! This Excursion will focus on two cities: Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. Phnom Penh is the capital of Cambodia and has been the focus of CRM’s ministry. Siem Reap is famous for the historic Angkor Watt (shown above). Join us for an adventure you won’t soon forget!

One-Day Excursions to Singapore
One-day Excursions to Singapore will be offered before and after the conference. Many travelers from the west will likely be traveling through Singapore in order to get to Langkawi, so this trip can be a simple add-on exposing you to a truly beautiful and modern Asian City.
Singapore is a developed city-state in the middle of Asia, located just off the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula. From a former British Colonial trading post, the island has developed into a world-class center for trade, finance, education, and high tech research and business. It is also a city of great diversity with Chinese/Buddhist (75%), Malay/Muslim (17%), and Indian/Hindu (8%) immigrant populations. The Christian Church has grown rapidly in the past 40 years to roughly 15% of the population.
CRM has been ministering in Singapore since 1999, developing spiritual leaders for the Christian population primarily through Focusing Leaders mentoring networks. CRM Singapore now includes 1 American couple, 4 local staff, 1 Intern couple from China, and many local volunteers.

Pre Conference Excursion Date: July 17th. This is a one-day tour. Most people traveling from the west will arrive very late the night before on July 16th and will depart for Langkawi on the 18th.
Pre Conference Excursion Details: Your pre-conference one-day excursion will start with a brief orientation, followed by a bus tour to three local ministries. Pastors will give an introduction to the spiritual climate of Singapore, with introductions to local beliefs and culture, and how churches and ministries are reaching out to them. They will all be leaders that CRMS has been supporting. We will have lunch in a local outdoor eating area, visit the main commercial center where one of our staff is leading a two day evangelistic outreach, stop for tea and a little shopping in Chinatown, and get back to the hotel by late afternoon so that you have the evening to eat and explore on your own, or just rest!
Post Conference Excursion Date: July 25th. This is a one-day tour. Most participants will depart for the conference (Langkawi) on July 24th and do the short 80-minute flight to Singpore. You will have the evening off to explore as you would like. You will want your departure flight to be scheduled for the morning of the 26th.
Post Conference Excursion Details: Your post-conference one-day excursion will start with a brief orientation, followed by a visits in two’s to a variety of local church worship services, hosted personally by church members. After the service, they will take you out for lunch for some local flavor, then bring you back to meet the whole excursion group at a church downtown, where we will debrief the experience. Together we will get an introduction to the spiritual climate of Singapore from some Singapore Christian leaders, with introductions to local beliefs and culture, and how churches and ministries are reaching out to them. We will finish with a visit to Chinatown for tea and a little shopping, finishing by dinner time so that you have the evening to eat and explore on your own.
Cost: Approximately $160.00 USD per person, based on double occupancy. Two nights lodging is included in the cost. Five-Day Excursion to China
China is one of the world’s oldest civilizations dating back over 5,000 years. This Excursion will focus on Beijing, which is the capital of China and home to over 11 million Chinese. The city is a great place to visit because it represents the country’s rich history, culture, stunning architecture and growing economy.
Dates: July 24-29
Details: We will explore the famous sites of Beijing, from the amazingly modern Olympic site(s) to the very ancient Great Wall and Forbidden City, as well as learn of the spiritual climate in China. Because of the sensitive nature of this trip, please contact us for more information and a trip itinerary.
Cost: Base price of $600.00 USD per person based on double occupancy + the cost of the tourist visa ($150-180) + airfare. This price includes lodging, meals, and all the tours and ground transportation.
